Summer 2024 Internships

Interested in learning about unique ways to increase the availability of housing for people experiencing homelessness or in imminent danger of experiencing homelessness and gaining excellent professional experience at the same time?

About Us: Lotus Campaign is a small, innovative nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the paradigm of how we address homelessness.

  • We've successfully facilitated housing for over 430 individuals in Charlotte, NC. And now, we're expanding our reach to the Triangle.

Details: We are seeking 2 professional and reliable interns. One will work in our Landlord Participation Program which brings together the real estate sector and social services organizations to facilitate stable, lasting housing for those experiencing homelessness and one will help drive our philanthropic development efforts. Lotus Campaign offers:

  • Projects that contribute to Lotus Campaign’s mission
  • $20 - $25 per hour compensation depending on education and experience with paid holidays
  • 35 hours per week schedule for 10 weeks

  • In-person opportunities for those in the Charlotte, Raleigh, or DC metro areas  

Qualifications:

  • Current graduate student in urban planning, urban design, public administration, public policy, business, or related field.
  • Self-motivated and flexible - interested in a range of subjects and participating in both minor administrative work and self-directed project work. 
  • Excited about nontraditional solutions to homelessness, housing affordability, planning, policy, and real estate 
  • Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to relate to a variety of people such as for-profit landlords, real-estate professionals, service organization professionals, donors, and grantors.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, MailChimp, Bloomerang, and graphic presentation and visualization tools (Adobe Suite) are a plus.
